What is 4K television? Simply put, 4K refers to a movie or television picture with a higher resolution (meaning more pixels) than a traditional HD television. Rather misleadingly, they don’t actually contain 4,000 lines of pixels. Rather, the resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels (as compared to the 1920 x 1080 of a regular HD 1080p image). That’s four times the resolution of a full HD TV. A 4K TV is also referred to as an Ultra High Definition (UHD) television.
